Hollywood= Fever in the daylight

I got home today from my second trip to La-La Land. It was definitely an experience... I went all by myself :(, so raging was a bit difficult. I flew on Virgin which was awesome because their planes are like iphones. I stayed in Venice which was cool. My hotel was right on the beach which I loved, but it was also right on the boardwalk which was sketchy. Whatever, I survived.

The main focus of this trip was business. I had 4 interviews in 4 days. BRUTAL. The good news was that I got 2 jobs. The bad news was that I would rather stick needles in my eyes than do those jobs. 12 hour days? Shitty compensation? Not for me. If I'm going to take a huge risk and move across the country for good, I need something much better. Needless to say, its back to the drawing boards. I'm talking with a few production studios in the Boston area where I can stay at home and save money, but who fucking knows. I know I love Los Angeles and I will definitely be there, I just don't know when.

Enough of that. Here are some fun things that I did:

I ventured to: Burbank, Santa Monica, Marina del Ray, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Long Beach, Culver City, Sunset Blvd, Santa Clarita, and Malibu, to name a few spots.

Long Beach was a blast. I met up with C-murph and we went to the Land of Many Beers. Our waittress was trying SO HARD to get us drunk but we had to be responsible since we both had an hour drive home. I got this drink called the "Escalade" with tequila, hypnotiq and some other shit in it. We went and walked around after dinner to sober up a bit and saw The Queen Mary (boat.) Then, we passed this bar called The Springbok and saw that people were playing beer pong. We got sad because we missed college and stopped to watch for a sec. Well, that was a mistake. This old man bopped up out of no where and was like "I'M BUYING YOU GIRLS SHOTS!" Since it was C-murph and I, we were like... fine... We meandered over to the bar with this dude and he got us Sambuca. WOOF and INSTADRUNK. Then he was like, "I'm buying you your first round of pong and a drink to have on the side." We looked at eachother, knew this was trouble and SPRINTED out of the bar. How responsible. I totally would have partied if I didn't have to drive an hour home to Venice. ahh well, soon enough.

One day I went and checked out stuff in Culver City. There are a LOT of hidden little studios since most people do their post-production stuff there. Sony Studios takes up a good chunk of Culver City as well. I ventured into Smashbox Cosmetics Corporate which was really happening. They do LA Fashion week there. Then I wandered into this building that looked cool. I looked around and there were tons of posters of Slightly Stoopid and the Expendables. I thought to myself, "no way..." Turns out, I had stumbled into Stoopid's management headquarters. What? REALLY? I ran into my dear friend Brian and he was like, Meaghan! What are you doing here?! He prob thinks I'm a crazy stalker, but I'm not, it was fate I swear. Unfortunately, Miles wasn't around :( BUT Brian gave me all of Slightly Stoopid's CD's! Love him. I also accidently stumbled onto the set of Californication. They weren't filming yet but it was cool to see the set get put together. They turned this vacant building into a pseudo-strip club for a scene. Dope.

The rest of the trip was pretty low-key. I went out to eat in some awesome resturaunts, by myself of course. Although my indepencence is a good quality, I realized that I don't really like being alone. I hope the next time I go to LA, I will have someone fun with me so that I can really rage. SoCal ain't seen nothin' yet.

Now that I'm back east, I have some REAL thinking to do. I also found a new boy to distract me.

not sorry!
